About

Travel to Historic Virginia Key Beach Park to contribute to ecological restoration projects at one of the most beautiful coastlines in Miami and the only beach available to People of Color during Miami’s era of segregation. Participants will remove non-native, invasive plants that damage the native ecosystem.

Meet in the Andreas Courtyard at 8:30 a.m. for a light breakfast and orientation.
Transportation and snacks are provided and sturdy, close-toed shoes are required. Participants should bring a reusable water bottle and prepare for the elements: long-sleeves, long pants, sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen are suggested to protect from bugs and sun.
