Weekend Kitchen Volunteers

I was there for two hours supporting my community. Basically, I was in the kitchen helping the ladies over there preparing the meals for the people. I had the opportunity of learning new stuff about the center, and interacting with some other college student that were volunteering as well. I helped the ladies in kitchen to pack some food and organizing it in categories such as breads and pastries. Additionally, I helped in the meal preparation such as cooking chicken and cleaning the kitchen. This opportunity helped me to understand how important is to help our community. I comprehended that there are many people who are going through a difficult economic situation, or do not have a place to live and they need something as simple as a meal.
